Hope Connections: Special Care in Hendry and Glades Counties
Support at Home
It’s easy to take for granted the small tasks we do each day - until we get older. Cooking, cleaning and even bathing may become a challenge. Getting to medical appointments, the pharmacy or grocery store is stressful for those who can no longer drive. Many elderly adults must choose between moving to a healthcare facility or living in their home. Hope Connections helps by providing special care to the seniors of Hendry and Glades counties, including:
- Nutritious meals, either home-delivered or at social meal centers
- Transportation to physician's offices, meal centers, shopping and essential appointments
- A Personal Emergency Response system for safety
- Homemaking and chores
- Personal care, help with dressing and personal hygiene
- Medical equipment and supplies
- Help for the caregiver
Hope Connections is sponsored by the area Senior Choices of Southwest Florida and the Florida Department of Elder Affairs. If you or someone you know could benefit from Hope Connections, please call the Elder Helpline at 866-413-5337.
